  1. January 18, 2025 – Dr. Elaine Studnicki – Plantations of Flagler County This presentation shares the historical facts about plantations and people who lived on the land that many of you call home today.  It’s a story of courage, brutal death, wars, politics, and the will to survive, thrive, and sacrifice for a better life.
  2. February 15, 2025 – Dr. Vincent Adejumo – The Seminoles of African Descent in Florida – This presentation provides a general overview of the origins of the Black Seminoles of Florida, their impact in the Seminole Wars, and their legacy after being exiled from Florida.
  3. March 8, 2025 – Dr. Gary Mormino – The Ten Foods of Florida – This illustrated talk also discusses Cortez mullet, Vernon gophers, LaBelle swamp cabbage, Ybor City Cuban bread, stone-ground grits, Immokalee tomatoes, and Hastings potatoes and the lamentation of the decline of iconic foods such as whole-hog BBQ and Apalachicola oysters.
  4. April 19, 2025 – Cori Convertito – Henry Flagler: Florida Visionary – Henry Flagler was a self-made millionaire and industrialist who co-founded the Standard Oil Company. In time, the Flagler name would be more associated with the development of Florida and the construction of its railroads. This presentation showcases Henry Flagler’s history and vision for the state and his contributions to the east coast of Florida.

  • May 7, 2025 – (Wednesday) A Cemetery Bus Tour -Limited to 48 seats – Visit old local cemeteries that are home to the stories and families of our past.  Mothers, daughters, husbands and sons will be listening to hear their family name mentioned and honored in this heartwarming tribute to our past.
  • May 22, 2025 (Thursday) A Palm Coast Canal/ICW Water Tour -1.5-hour tour – 2 time slots – 8:00-9:30 and 10:00-11:30 12 passengers for each trip. This event, our first canal tour, will travel and share stories through the canals of Palm Coast and along the Intracoastal Coastal Waterway.  We will travel in a large Pontoon Boat rental. Our captain Adam Morely will keep us safe.  The cost is $25.00 per person.

  • June 7, 2025 – Chris Kahl – A Musical Journey Through Florida – This presentation takes audiences on a historical journey through the state, featuring performances of songs covering a wealth of historical events, characters, and folklore with in-depth storytelling about Ponce de Leon’s voyage to Florida in 1513, Henry Flagler’s building of the Florida East Coast Railway, Florida’s unique ecosystems, and more. Original songs come from Chris Kahl’s Florida-themed albums, Orange Blossom Memories and Sunshine Kid.
  • June 7, 2025 James Abraham – Bloody Streets and Crooked Lines:  100 Years of Voter Suppression in Florida – From the violent and fatal 1921 election riots in Ocoee through modern redistricting issues, this presentation explores voter suppression in Florida over one hundred years and the prime figures in the struggle for full and equal access to the polls.
  • June 7, 2025 Pat Mitchell is a local Author, 5th generation African American that will speak about growing up    Bunnell, her heritage, and how her heritage has formed the person she is today.
