Welcome to the Flagler County Historical Society

On behalf of our Officers and Board I thank you for your support and partnership. Flagler County has a history rich in trials, tribulations, victories and successes. I encourage you to become a student of history. The lessons and patterns of the past will help to enrich your present day life and it will give you foresight into the future.

On behalf of our Officers and Board I thank you for your support and partnership. Flagler County has a history rich in trials, tribulations, victories and successes. I encourage you to become a student of history. The lessons and patterns of the past will help to enrich your present day life and it will give you foresight into the future.

We have a tremendous amount of resources to help you on your journey to learn about Flagler County, it’s surrounding areas, and your own personal lineage. The Holden House Museum is open weekly to give you a sense of local life in 1918. Its Sunroom Theater and Gift Shop affords you opportunities to watch local history documentaries and interviews of notable Flagler County residents – many of whom have helped to shape local, state, and national events.

Our greatest asset is our people!

The History Annex Research Room, located behind the Holden House Museum, is chock full of photographs, maps, books, files, county records, and artifacts. Open weekly and by appointment, these special collections are available to help you with your personal research goals.

Our greatest asset is our people! Our historians are one-of-a-kind and love to teach what they have learned. Our genealogists can assist you in starting a personal history study or show you ways around research speed bumps and obstacles. Our preservationists can help you save that sentimental item or give you advice on restoring or marking a historic home.

Then there’s you, who we look forward to getting to know better. You have your own story to tell and your own lessons to teach. I encourage you to become an active member and join us in our quest to teach our youth and their families!
